The International Council for Coaching Excellence (ICCE) is a not-for-profit, international organisation with the mission of leading and supporting the development of sports coaching globally. The target audiences for the ICCE are National Representative Bodies responsible for coach development; International Federations; institutions that deliver coach education
or represent coaches; individuals who design and deliver coach education; coaches; and the international sport community at large. The expected outcomes of the ICCE’s on-going work are:
• A network of national and international organizations responsible for the development of coaches in their respective nations and/or sport;
• International accords on coaching issues such as ethics, safety, and knowledge/competency;
• An international coaching culture that supports the values of integrity, honesty, fairness, inclusion, tolerance, and commitment to excellence.

The role of the ICCE members in this project is slightly different from that of the other members. The ICCE members are mainly responsible of assuring quality in both the design and the delivery of the units. The ICCE members bring substantial experience in the field, and can also map the work being done on this project with international standards.

Ladislav Petrovic has been active in national and international coach education and continuous professional development for coaches for more than two decades. He has participated as an expert in several international and European projects (e.g. including CoachNet, CoachLearn, CoachForce21 and iCoachKids) and expert groups in coaching, coach education and employment. His expertise includes international coach education; curriculum development in coach education; coach education structures and vocational education; and continuing development programmes for coaches.
Ladislav has fulfilled several positions in the field of sport coaching. He is the General Secretary of the International Council for Coaching Excellence and a Board Member of the European Network of Sport Education.

John Bales’ career focus is on excellence in sport coaching and technical leadership.  As President of the International Council for Coaching Excellence, former CEO of the Coaching Association of Canada, and a past national and Olympic coach for the Canadian canoe-kayak team, he has coached, developed coaches, and helped organizations enhance their coaching systems in multiple countries. John holds a Bachelor of Physical Education and Bachelor of Arts (Mathematics) and an MBA from Institut Européen d’Administration des Affaires in Paris, France.

John is leading several international development projects within the ICCE such as Coach Developer, PEAK and Assessment in Coach Education.

Sergio is the ICCE Manager for Strategy and Development, he also serves as a Reader at Leeds Beckett University. A former Team GB coach in Basketball, Sergio has extensive international experience in coach development, evaluation, and coach education systems. He has also conducted research into High Performance Coaching and Youth Development.
Sergio moved to Leeds Beckett University to work within the International Council for Coaching Excellence office in 2012. Since then he has led a series of major international projects such as the development of the International and European Sport Coaching Frameworks, the highly acclaimed Serial Winning Coaches study, the development of the International Coaching Degree Standards, and CoachForce21 project.
Over the last decade, Sergio has gained a reputation as one of the world’s foremost experts in coach education and development and youth sport and has presented, taught, and consulted all over the world, including the USA, Canada, Australia, Japan, China, South Africa, Singapore, Philippines, and Israel.
Sergio is also leading several international ICCE projects such as iCoachKids and still actively coaching basketball in Manchester.
